Winter Wedding Styled Shoot at Ballara Receptions
Together with some of Melbourne’s top wedding suppliers, the team from Bridal Expos Melbourne attended the Winter Wedding Styled Shoot at Ballara Receptions, capturing all the behind the scenes action and getting a glimpse behind the glamour of a big photo shoot.
Ballara Receptions, located in leafy Eltham in Melbourne’s East, was the stage for this Winter Wedding Styled Shoot. The weather gods were definitely smiling upon us when on the day of the shoot, the sun was shining magnificently over head with only a little breeze – a perfect day for a photo shoot!
The models started the day early with the fabulous Hair and Make Up Team to give our “Brides to Be” their wedding day glow.
As you can see from these behind the scenes pics, the atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation to what the rest of the day will bring.
Excitement filled the air when Con and the team from Icon Photography arrived and started setting up and getting ready for the day. Con always produces absolutely amazing photography and we were looking forward to seeing the results of this shoot! The models were beautifully dressed from two different Melbourne Bridal Houses.
Kim Alpha Bridal, with a variety of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses in a range of shades from whites to pinks, designed to compliment and suit brides of all shapes and sizes.
Zhanel Bridal Couture had breathtaking handmade bridal gowns that were simply heart stopping. Hand sewn from delicate laces and crystals, Zhanel’s gowns were dazzling.
And let’s not forget the Grooms! We had 3 “Grooms” for the styled shoot, who were handsomely dressed by the stylish Opal Formalwear in Ivanhoe. A variety of colours were chosen to showcase that not all grooms suits need to be black and white.
Native florals from Scentsational made eye catching statements which looked gorgeous as table centrepieces as well as being the feature piece of the bridal table.
Very Inviting brought together chic and stylish menu cards in a gorgeous matte black with copper foil tones. We especially love the idea of using Toblerone chocolate bars as place cards! All the stationery was beautifully coordinated and were a highlight of the dining tables and chapel.
An impressive 4 tier cake from Sweet Affection Cake Design stood out from the crowd on the cake table provided by Ballara Receptions. In front of the cake, Mr & Mrs Neon Signs from Event Neon Custom Signs made for spectacular photos as the day progressed.
A sumptuous cocktail buffet was on show provided by the excellent chefs at Ballara Receptions, which were a hit with both suppliers and models! There was something for everyone, Arancini Balls, Chorizo & Prawn Skewers, Smoked Salmon Bagels and Pork & Hoisin Wonton Cup just to name a few.
Outside, our “Brides and Grooms” posed amongst the magical backdrop of Ballara’s gardens. We really wanted to utilise some hidden gems in the Ballara gardens, from the Lakeside Jetty to pictures in front of the LOVE letters, Ballara’s gardens had magical spaces everywhere.
The Courtyard was decorated by using re-usable outdoor balloons from Balloontree Australia.
Wedding cars from both JC Jags and Enrik Limousines looked magnificent in front of the Ballara Chapel. The vehicles looked impeccable and polished to their finest on this perfect Melbourne day. Professional drivers and service as always from Con at JC Jags and Pete from Enrik Limousines.
Julie Byrne, Wedding Celebrant was our celebrant for the day performing many weddings for our brides and grooms, brides and brides and grooms and grooms! Julie brought genuine enthusiasm and joy to the day, you can see how Julie makes couples feel at ease on their wedding day.
Matt Jefferies Entertainment was there to showcase two of their wedding services. The Ballara Chapel was filled with Matt’s famous “Dancing on a Cloud” effect which produced amazing results when brides were walking down the aisle. Imagine walking on the heavens as you walk down the aisle, just magical!
As dusk settled in, it was time for the event we were waiting for – fireworks! Positioned by the lakeside jetty, fireworks from Matt Jefferies was a marvellous display. These made for some ultimate photo opportunities.
Con from Icon Photography went above and beyond to capture some of the shots on not only getting some amazing dusk time shots, but across the course of the day. His work is second to none!
Styled photo shoots such as this gives all the involved wedding suppliers the unique opportunity to showcase their talents together and provides networking connections in Melbourne’s wedding industry.
