Planning the perfect day takes a lot of inspiration. Luckily, we were able to find just that at the Melbourne Wedding & Bride Summer Expo 2022.
Sunday 16th January marked the date of the highly anticipated Melbourne Wedding and Bride Summer Expo for 2022, at its all-new, bigger and better location: the Melbourne Showgrounds.
A sunny 32-degree day might have put some people off, but thankfully the Showground’s Exhibition Pavilion was well-equipped. It handled the heat perfectly, and the atmosphere was, whilst buzzing with wedding fever, pleasantly cool.
With doors opening at 9am, quite a crowd was ready and waiting for the start of the Expo. However, the line moved quickly, thanks to registration and ticket sales being conducted online. Any extra convincing we might have needed to book tickets came in the form of tickets being FREE! Usually worth $25, this was an offer we could not pass up. And being able to indulge in some serious wedding-planning-fun until doors closed at 4pm was very much worth our time. The easy access to the Melbourne Showgrounds was another plus in our books. The venue boasts ample onsite parking and is also conveniently accessible by public transport.

As the name suggests, the Exhibition Pavilion was well-suited for the Expo. If anything, it may have been a little too big, causing any empty stalls to be particularly noticeable. This, however, also gave us plenty of space to admire the displays without blocking anyone’s paths or feeling cramped. Exhibitors’ stalls were set up in rows running down the Pavilion. Walking down the aisles adorned with the beautiful wedding flowers, decorations and items showcased by suppliers bolstered the wedding theme. Coffee and food trucks were stationed at the back of the Pavilion and supplied us with a source of much needed energy to explore the Expo.
So much to see!
Right at the front of the Pavilion, and one of the first attractions to draw your eye at the Expo, was the white runway and big white “LOVE” letters that set the scene for the fashion parades. The two parades, at 11am and 2pm, were hugely popular on the day among expo-goers. They showcased the gorgeous work of top Melbourne designers. Other key features that made this event stand out for us were the free bridal bags handed out at the door to the first 150 brides to enter, a stunning wedding car showcase, and the 150 or so premium exhibitors displaying their wonderful wares and being more than willing to have a chat with you about your wedding plans. Several of the exhibitors were offering spectacular prizes and exclusive offers at the Expo. We had heard about these through Wedding and Bride’s social media channels and website.
Exhibitors covered everything you could need for your perfect day. The Wedding & Bride Summer Expo showcased remarkable photographers, cake designers, beauty services, stationery, planners and stylists, florists, wedding venues, celebrants and more!
